Day 01 Arrival
Lhasa and transfer to Tsedang [B]
In the morning, fly to Gonggar Airport from Chengdu / Kathmandu. Upon
arrival, drive for 1.5 hours (120 km) to reacho Tsedang, the cradle of
Tibet culture. Rest at the hotel for adapting to the high attitude
Day 02 Tsedang
Sightseeing [B]
In the morning, make a trip in the Yarlung valley to visit the
Yumbulakhang, a medieval-European castle-like structure, reputed
as Tibet’s oldest building. It doesn’t take that long to explore
Yumblagang, perhaps the best part of the visit is the walk up along
the ridge around the building. There’re fabulous views of the Yarlung
valley. Then have a tour to Trundruk Monastery nearby.
Tsedang literally means monkey’s playground. Tsedang is the thirds largest town in Tibet and is 195 km from Lhasa. Tsedang is the capital of Shannan Prefecture as well as a major tourist destination in Tibet with its rich natural resources and mild climate. Tsedang is a place of origin of Tibetan Culture and it is known as the Cradle of Tibetan Civilization.
Trundruk Monastery: It was built in the seventh century and has been repaired in various historical periods since then. As per the legend, after Songtsan Bambo established its capital in Lhasa, he came and stayed here together with Princess Wen Cheng who planted the willow trees around the monastery. This monastery houses a precious Thangka picture of a Buddha inlaid with pearls and gems.
Day 03 Tsedang/Samye/Lhasa

In the morning drive further to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Visit
Samye Monastery and Mindroling Monastery en route.
Day 04 Lhasa

Visit
Potala
Palace
and
Jokang Monastery today, then walk on the
Barkhor
street
surrounding Jokhang, a big free market with its prolific stalls for
selling local specialties.
Day 05 Lhasa
sightseeing [B]
Visit
Drepung Monastery for the whole morning, later after lunch, visit
Sera monastery. We can do the Sera Kora walk of about 1 hr and
then catch the famous debate session (if the debate session is in process)
of the monks before returning back to Lhasa.
Day 06
Lhasa/Yamdrok Yumtso/Gyantse, 300km [B]
Drive to Gyantse, the famous historical city in Tibet, along the
Kyichu River.
On the Ganba La (4,796 m) have a fantastic view of the holy lake of
Yamdrok
Yumtso
(4441 m).
Day 07
Gyantse/Shigatse, 90 km / Lhatse 150 km [B]
In the morning, drive to
Shigatse, which
is the second largest city in Tibet and also the hometown of Panchen Lama.
Visit
Tashilumpu Monastery, the main attraction of Shigatse city and its
free market.
Afterwards continue drive to Lhatse, upon arrival, visit Xiqin Hot Springs (4010 m), one may enjoy some easy hiking in this area. It is said lots of illness can be cured by taking a bath in the hot spring. It is the perfect place for a relaxed solitary time. Don't forget to wash up your face and hands with the spring water as it contains medicinal values or you may have a dip there (self-paid).
Day 08 Lhatse/Old
Tingri/Shigatse

In the morning drive to Old Tingri, there you could have view the Mt.
Everest from a distance, then drive back to Shigatse, visit
Sakya
Monastery en route.
It is recommended to visit Xegar only if you are interested to visit EBC, otherwise there is no sightseeing place in Xegar.
Day 09
Shigatse/Lhasa

In the morning, drive back to
Lhasa
along Yalung Tsangpo River, upon arrival, the free time at your
disposal.
Day 10 Leave Tibet [B]
In time, transfer to the airport/train station for your onward journey to
