9 nights/10 Trekking Itineraries in  Trekking From Damxung to Nam Tso Lake 

Day 01  Arrival Lhasa and acclimatization
        Welcome to Tibet at Gonggar Airport! Lhasa, the capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, has a history of more than 1,300 years. It is the political, economic, cultural and transport center of the region. Lhasa covers an area of close to 30,000 square km. It has a downtown of 544 square km and a population of 400,000; 140,000 of its people live in the downtown area. Lhasa is home to the Tibetan, Han, and Hui peoples, as well as many other ethnic groups, but the Tibetan ethnic group makes up 87 percent of the total population. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Here, air is extremely pure and the sky is deep blue. This day would be kept for your acclimatization. It is advisable to drink plenty of water and have a good sleep for next day’s program.

Day 02  Lhasa sightseeing [B]
Visit
Potala Palace and Jokang Monastery today, then walk on the Barkhor street surrounding Jokhang, a big free market with its prolific stalls for selling local specialties.  

Day 03  Lhasa sightseeing [B]
Visit Drepung Monastery for the whole morning, later after lunch, visit Sera monastery.  We can do the Sera Kora walk of about 1 hr and then catch the famous debate session (if the debate session is in process) of the monks before returning back to Lhasa.

Day 04 Lhasa/ Reting Monastery Overnight at Reting Monastery Guesthouse
In the morning head for Reting Monastery 180 kilometers north to Lhasa. Reting Monastery lies in the midst of an cypress forest. It was established in 1057 by Drom Toenpa, Atisha’s most important pupil. In the afternoon visit the Reting Monastery or villages down the Kyichu River valley.

Day 05 Reting—Damxung, Start trekking Overnight in Tented Camps [B+L+D]
In the morning drive on rugged road before reach Damxung (4130 m) by the Qinghai - Tibet Highway. Your trek begins from here. Today you will only have a short trek and goes up through a beautiful meadow. We will also visit a monastery en route. Camp 

Day 06 Trekking 7-8 hours Overnight in Tented Camps [B+L+D]
Today you will pass through glaciated valley and reach a herder's camp where you will camp for the night. 

Day 07 Trekking 6-7 hours Overnight in Tented Camps [B+L+D]
You will cross Kong La from where you can have spectacular views of Nam Tso Lake and the Nyenchen Thangla ranges. Descend to a broad basin and hike along green meadows. 

Day 08 To Tashi Dorje and Nam Tso Lake 7-8 hours Overnight in Tented Camps [B+L+D]
You will hike along green meadows and pass through several nomad camps and their herds of animals. You will be served lunch by the lake. Later follow the jeep trail all the way to Tashi Dorje hermitage. Nam Tso, the biggest salty lake of Tibet, is 70 kilometers long from east to west and 30 kilometers wide from north to south, covering an area of 1,920 square kilometers with an altitude of 4,700 meters above sea level. It is said the holy lake and the holy mountain Nyenchentangla are a loving couple who altogether guard the vast pasture and cattle.  

Day 09 Nam Tso Lake Overnight in Tented Camps [B+L+D]
Explore the Tashi peninsula walking around the holy hill, the cliffs of which have eroded over the centuries. Also visit the nomads in yak hair tents who have been living on the pastures between the holy Nam Tso and Nyenchentangla. 

Day 10 Nam Tso Lake—Yanpacheng—Lhasa [B]
In the morning walk around the peninsula and then drive back to Lhasa. Pass by Yanpacheng, the highest-altitude hot springs in the world, 90 kilometers northwest of Lhasa. This area is rich in terrestrial heat and densely distributed with various fountains, geysers, hot springs, boiling springs as well as hot-water lakes.

Day 11 Lhasa/ Gonggar Airport (Leave Tibet) [B]
